“Ask for anything,” I said, my breath still running wild from her kiss. “Ask for anything, and I’ll lie at your feet.” Her eyes widened with surprise.
Staring at me for a few heartbeats, she gave me a mischievous smile. “Are you sure, your Grace?” Something bright danced in her eyes.
“Anything, Bellissima,” I answered, drinking every drop of her beauty. Her lips parted in surprise for me calling her Bellissima. She was, indeed, the most beautiful woman in my world. “Name anything, and I’d bring it for you, but don’t ask me to catch the stars.” I returned a small smile.
“Ah!” she exclaimed. “I’m not craving stars, your Grace, but…” she paused to think. “Chocolate.” I drew my eyebrows, unsure for what she was asking. “I want to eat chocolate.”
I thought for a brief moment, wondering if I had ever heard this name, but I was clueless. “What in the world is that?”
She gave a sweet sigh. “It is something very sweet,” she explained dreamingly, “that melts in your mouth and takes you straight to heaven.”
Tucking a lock of hair behind her ear, I chuckled. “I don’t desire your chocolate, Bellissima, as your taste and how you melt in my arms already takes me straight to heaven.” Before she could say anything in return, I sealed her lips with mine briefly, giving my soul a short trip to heaven. “Where do I get it?”
She sighed again. “In a few centuries.”
“Then we have only each other to stop our cravings,” I nudged my nose with hers.
“You know, you’re too sweet and cheesy sometimes,” she giggled, “as if I’m inside a romance novel.”
“A novel we are writing,” I added.
“You don’t say, your Grace.” She smiled. “Then we have to make sure we have no loopholes in our story.”
“Indeed. Anything else my lady desires that is available in my world?”
